Surmount Public School is a private, English-medium primary school in Brahmpuri, North East Delhi, offering education from Playgroup and Nursery through Class 5. We opened our doors in 2021 with a clear intention: to give children in Brahmpuri and the surrounding neighbourhoods of Jafrabad, Chauhan Banger, and Mustafabad access to the kind of personalised, attentive schooling that is difficult to find in large-batch institutions.
Our founding team brings over 30 years of combined experience in primary education across Delhi. Every teacher at Surmount holds a Bachelor of Education (B.Ed.) degree and has undergone specialised training in early childhood and primary pedagogy. With a teacher-to-student ratio of 1:15, our classrooms are small enough that every child is known by name, learning style, and pace — not just by a roll number.
Since our first batch of 50+ students in 2021, we have grown to serve 150+ families across North East Delhi. How We Teach — and Why It Works
Our curriculum is aligned with the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020 and follows the NCERT framework. Progress is assessed through Continuous Comprehensive Evaluation (CCE) — a holistic method that tracks academic growth, social development, creativity, and physical fitness throughout the year, rather than reducing a child's potential to a single exam score.
For our youngest learners in Playgroup and Nursery, we use play-based and inquiry-led methods that align with how children aged 2–5 actually learn — through movement, story, observation, and guided exploration. As students progress into Class 1 through Class 5, instruction shifts to a structured but flexible model: core subjects (English, Hindi, Mathematics, EVS, Science, Social Studies) are taught alongside Islamic Studies, Urdu, Computer Studies, and dedicated sessions for Art, Music, and Physical Education.
We do not believe in rote memorisation as a learning strategy. Conceptual understanding, questioning, and application are the goals in every classroom. A student who understands why something is true will remember it far longer than one who has memorised the answer for Friday's test.
Admissions for 2026–27 — What You Need to Know
Admissions for the 2026–27 academic session are currently open. The session begins in April 2026, and seats are limited across all grades. Age criteria follow the guidelines of the Directorate of Education, GNCT of Delhi, with age calculated as of April 1, 2026. Nursery requires a minimum age of 3 years; Class 1 requires 6 years.
Our admission process is straightforward and transparent — no entrance exam, no complicated scoring. It involves an initial enquiry, a registration form, document submission (birth certificate, address proof, passport photos), an informal interaction session, and fee confirmation. Most families complete the process within a week. For transfer students, a Transfer Certificate from the previous school is required and can be submitted after admission confirmation if timing is difficult.
